Current British Tumbling Champion Laura Houson (Wakefield G.C.) won a significant, first ever World Cup victory in her career, at the renowned tournament named after the astronaut Alexander Alexandrov, held at the Bulgarian capital Sofia, on 22/23rd June 2007. Laura’s overall score was 66.60pts.

The first World Cup out of three which takes place in Prague this weekend from the 28th June – 1st July.

A 723 member strong British Gymnastics Delegation are getting ready for the biggest and the most exciting gymnastics event in 2007 - the 13th World Gymnaestrada which will be held in Dornbirn, Austria from 8th until 14th July 2007.

Anna Hemmings, five times World Marathon Champion, will also be keen to make a successful entry onto the 2007 Sprint racing scene. She competes in the womens kayak single (WK1) class

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) have accepted that the number of bronze medals to be awarded in taekwondo at the Olympic Games will be increased to two starting with next year’s Olympic Games in the Chinese capital of Beijing.

The Draw for the World Championships in Artistic Gymnastics in Stuttgart (GER) was held on Wednesday, 20th June 2007 at the renowned Hans-Martin Schleyer Halle in Stuttgart, the host of this most important event for the year, which will also serve as Olympic Qualifications for Beijing 2008 and will be held in the week 1st-9th September.

UK-based Californian Liz Halliday saw her hopes of becoming the first female class winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours dashed in the early hours of Sunday morning as her Courage LC75 developed gearbox problems which ultimately forced her retirement.

When the 165 drivers entered to take part in this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours line-up in the town centre for the traditional drivers’ parade this Friday, one will perhaps stand out more than the rest.
