The tournament, which will be held at Battelle Hall in the Greater Columbus Convention Center August 17-19, 2007, will feature 12 teams from the WFTDA's East Region. The top four teams will advance to the national tournament to be held in Austin, TX in September 2007, where they will compete against the top four teams from February's West Regional Tournament, the Dust Devil.
Heartland Havoc will mark the first time an official WFTDA tournament has been held in the East Region, defined as East of the Mississippi River. Twelve full-length bouts over the course of the three-day tournament are sure to please both hard-core and new flat-track derby fans alike.
The twelve WFTDA Division I & II teams competing include: Atlanta Rollergirls, Boston Derby Dames, Carolina Rollergirls, Detroit Derby Girls, Gotham Girls Roller Derby, Grand Raggidy Roller Girls, Mad Rollin' Dolls, Minnesota Rollergirls, Ohio Roller Girls, Philly Roller Girls, Providence Roller Derby, Windy City Rollers.
Hotel information for fans will be available soon at the Ohio Roller Girls website, along with information on what to do in the Columbus area, and the ever important derby after parties. The OHRG will do double duty and in addition to playing in the tournament will be hosting and planning the weekend as well.
