Women sport news - GB Women finish World Championship campaign on a high
GREAT Britain Women beat Greece 25-23 in the final match of their World Championship Qualifying Tournament in Holland on Sunday to cap a superb week for the squad. The team had made no secret of their ambition to beat Greece in the event, but the tournament was more successful than they thought after strong performances against top nations earlier in the event.

From 25 to 30 November 2008 the qualification Europe - phase 1 - for the 2009 Womens World Championship in China took place. The qualification phase 1 was played in three tournaments (2 groups of six teams and 1 group of five teams). Group 1 was hosted by the Netherlands in Emmen, group 2 by Montenegro in Pljevlja and group 3 by Poland in Dabrowa Gornicza.
