USA Takes K2 Nation's Cup

WHISTLER, BC  – After a successful three days of races at the Whistler Cup earning a total of seven medals, the U.S. clinched the K2 Nation's Cup. The USA went head-to-head with 25 nations in six events to earn the coveted title.

Based on a top 15 scoring system, first receives 15 points and 15th gets one point, the USA topped the K2, also known as the USA's J3, Nation Cup standings. Despite not having representation in the K1 or J4 division, the USA team finished second in the Whistler Cup's Nation's Cup standings behind host country Canada.

Canada won the overall and the K1 Nation's Cups as well as finishing second behind the U.S. in the K2 classification.

With the 2011 Whistler Cup completed, the future looks bright with the USA's next generation of skiers experiencing success on an international stage.
