Emma Dahlstrom (SWE) the winner of the European Freeski Open 2011 Slopestyle competition in LAAX
Under sunny sky and with good mood the international Freeskiing-Circuit gathered today on Crap Sogn Gion, right above Laax, to cheer for the top riders in the slopestyle finals at the European Freeski Open. In the young and very colourful starter field the Swedish Girl Emma Dahlstrom could finally push through with an excellent performance.
Swedish riders were dominating the women`s finals. 18- year old Emma Dahlstrom won the first big international title in her career at the European Freeski Open in Laax with an amazing 1st run. Her tricks over the Rail-Section impressed the judges as well as those over the kicker-line. „That`s the biggest success in my career so far, I can`t be happier! This victory is encouraging me for the upcoming events!“ Ranked 2nd Maria Bagge, also from Sweden, was followed by 15-year old Katie Summerhayes from Great Britain.
4 times Champion at the European Freeski Open, Virginie Faivre from Montreux (SUI) is still recovering from an old injury, that`s why she didn`t start today, but she will defend her title in tomorrow`s Halfpipe competition.
European Freeski Open 2011 program for Saturday will be the men`s and women`s halfpipe finals. High level riding and outstanding tricks can be expected in the 160 meter Superpipe at the Crap Sogn Gion.
