Grand Central Publishing has announced that they will release Serena Williams' memoir in 2009. Apparently there was quite a battle between publishers about who would get the rights to the book. Word is that the bidding got up to $1.3 million, but Grand Central Publishing aren't saying how much they put down for the book.
Women sport news - Ice Hockey-2008 U.S. Womens Select Team Named
USA Hockey today announced the 22-player U.S. Women’s Select Team that will compete in the Women’s Four Nations Cup in Lake Placid, N.Y., from November 4-9. Highlighting the roster are 18 members of the 2008 U.S. Women's National Team that won the gold medal at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Women's Championship in April.

The Duramed FUTURES Tour, along with the Brownville Convention and Visitors Bureau, announced today the addition of a new tournament in Brownsville, Texas. The Historic Brownsville Open will hold its inaugural event April 20-26, 2009. The tournament has signed on for three years, from 2009, 2010 and 2011.
