YWCA Toronto Women of Distinction Awards 2012 Honours Angela James Planting Seeds of Change
YWCA Toronto's Women of Distinction Awards recognize trailblazing women in our community who are making a difference in the lives of women and girls. One of the recepients of this year's awards is Angela James, who was recently inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
For ten years, Angela was a member of the Canadian Women's Hockey team, winning a remarkable four World and four International Pacific Rim championships.
She also joined the Canadian Women's Roller Hockey Team, which won gold at the World Championships. Now the Senior Sport Coordinator at Seneca College, Angela is a champion for girls' sports teams, mentoring and coaching a new generation of women players.
James's accomplishments and ongoing work are transforming the world of sport for women and girls.
