Three University of Bath students have been named in the Great Britain team
to compete at the first World University Netball Championships.
Kadeen Corbin, Yasmin Parsons and Mia Ritchie are members of the 12-strong
Great Britain squad for the inaugural championships, which take place in
South Africa at the beginning of July.
The trio are Sports Performance students and were members of the University
of Bath team that won the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS)
Championships this year for the first time for four years.
They are also members of Team Bath¹s 2012 Fiat Netball Superleague squad.
Kadeen, Yamsin and Mia will each receive support from the Alumni Elite
Athlete Fund, made possible by donations from University of Bath graduates,
to help with the costs of competing at the championships.
Kadeen and Mia are senior England internationals and Yasmin has captained
England at Under-21 level. Kadeen is a shooter, with Mia and Yasmin both
playing in mid court.
It¹s the first time there has been a British national team since a UK Select
team was put together to play New Zealand in 1995.
The inaugural World University Netball Championships take place in Cape Town
from 2 to 7 July.
