Synchronised Swimming-Randall puts in promising performance in Shanghai

Commonwealth silver medallist Jenna Randall showed her potential on the world stage by impressing with her strong performance in the Solo Technical at the World Championships in Shanghai.

The Olympian has been working on the intensity of her routine at a number of training camps through the season and tonight showed her hard work paying off.

She performed to Hallelujah and the slow routine required precision and sharp moves which she executed well. She finished in eighth place overall with a score of 89.000.

“My thrusts are my strongest element in the technical programme,” Randall said. “I think overall all of my elements went well tonight but I am disappointed in the marks. I had a good prelim and I knew what I had to work on to correct for the final.

“I think this year we have taken a massive step forward and it is really good to show our progress on the world stage. We can see where we are and what we need to improve ready for 2012.”

The Duet Technical prelim saw Randall and her partner Olivia Allison qualify for the final after finishing in 10th place. They scored a total of 87.800 to reach the final.
