With just four games remaining after this weekend, each side in the RFL Women's Rugby League are fully aware of the importance of a victory at this stage of the season.
The HUNSLET HAWKS claimed a win on the road at WIGAN ST PATRICKS, triumphing 10-26.
In a powerful first half performance, the Hawks amassed 16 unanswered points, with Sophie Grogan and Jackie Sedgwick amongst the try scorers.
By their own admission, St Pat's weren't smart enough around the park as they let a dominant Hunslet outfit post a comfortable half time lead.
The second half, however, was a much closer affair, as the hosts managed to get a foothold in the match. Jenna Fazackerley and Armani Sharrock got on the scoresheet for St Pat's in what was a real 'arm wrestle' of a second forty minutes.
But the hard work the Hawks put in early on always gave them that crucial edge, and further tries from Donna Tobitt and Lorna McCabe sealed the Yorkshire side's victory. Special praise was signalled out for St Pat's forward Chelsea Newton, with the 16 year old impressing on her full debut.
Elsewhere, it was COPELAND WILDCATS 12 BRADFORD CLAYTON THUNDERBIRDS 48.
