Georgia Davies and Joe Roebuck continued the British Gas GBR Swimming
Team's medal charge with silver and bronze respectively at the European
Short Course Championships in Sczcecin, Poland.

Confidence has been high in the British camp after medals from Hannah
Miley, Jemma Lowe, Jess Dickons and Amy Smith over the opening two days.

And Davies kept the party going with a courageous effort to win silver
in the 50m Backstroke.

The Commonwealth bronze medallist smashed her Welsh record in the final
as she ducked under 27 seconds for the first time, ultimately touching
in 26.93.

And the British Gas ITC Swansea swimmer insisted the medal was the
perfect remedy to yesterday's disappointment at not making the podium in
the 100m Backstroke.

"I'm really pleased with that," said the Davies. "I got a new personal
best, and unlike my hundred I went faster in each round."

"I was disappointed with my time this morning but I think I was still
groggy from last night.

"I raced the girls next to me and as well as I could and luckily I ended
up with a medal. My luck tends to take me to bronze so I'm so glad it
changed and I won silver."

Hannah Miley and Anne Bochmann finished fifth and ninth respectively in the 400m Freestyle final.

Having opened up her account in Poland with 200m Individual Medley
bronze on Thursday, Miley set a Scottish record of 4:04.45 to reach the
final before slicing another three seconds off it with her effort of
4:01.46.

And with her favourite 400m Individual Medley still to come on the final
day tomorrow, Miley admitted her hot-streak in Poland had taken her by
surprise.

"I don't know where that came from," she said. "I've always had a
struggle with the 400m free and I've tried to work hard on it.

"It's a fun event so I just got in, enjoyed it and got a best time and I
can't ask for more than that."

Teenager Bochmann was competing in her first international final since
the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

And after setting a personal best 4:05.14 to qualify for the final in
Poland, the 18-year old said she was happy to be competing at the top
level again after a back injury disrupted her progress last season.

"I'm still in hard training so this meet was about coming here to see
how I'm progressing," said Bochmann.

"It's about getting experience on an international scale and I'm really
pleased with my times."

Georgia Davies was back in the pool a matter of minutes after her
individual medal and came within a whisker of collecting another in the
4x50m Medley Relay.

The Welsh swimmer was joined by yesterday's 100m Freestyle bronze
medallist Amy Smith as well as Stacey Tadd and Jemma Lowe, as they
finished in 1:48.74 - just 0.04 off Poland in bronze.

Tadd and Lowe were also in individual action on day three, competing in
the 100m Butterfly and 100m Breaststroke semi finals respectively.

Lowe enjoyed the most success, qualifying second fastest for tomorrow's
final where she will look to add to her silver from the 200m Butterfly
earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, Tadd clocked a personal best 1:07.85 as she finished 13th
overall in the 100m Breaststroke.

Jess Dickons was also in semi final action.

Dickons finished 15th in the 100m Butterfly with another personal best
of 59.11.
