Tonia Couch guaranteed a British spot in the women's 10m Platform at
London 2012 after reaching the final at the World Championships in
Shanghai.

While Couch cannot qualify herself directly until the British trials
next year, her performance in China does guarantee a quota place for one
British diver in the same event at next year's Games.

The 22-year old, who finished eighth in the 10m Platform at Beijing
2008, has been in fine form in China and finished
press-with-fourth-in-shanghai/10021/> fourth in the 10m Synchro with
partner Sarah Barrow two days ago.

And having secured the Olympic quota place, Couch admitted she was now
focused on raising her game for tomorrow's final.

"I'm very pleased to have made the final and secure Great Britain a
place in that event at the Olympics," said Couch.

"I am now one step closer to reaching my goal of top eight and I'm going
to go into the final and enjoy myself and give it all that I've got and
see what happens."

Having progressed through the morning heats in ninth on 317.10, Couch
dropped her level slightly but made safe progress from the semi finals,
scoring 313.35 to finish 11th.

World Championship debutante Jenny Cowen was also in action in the 10m
Platform, scoring 254.70 to finish 24th overall.
