The Cricket Australia (CA) Women’s National Selection Panel (WNSP) today announced a squad of Australia’s top emerging women’s cricketers to represent the Commonwealth Bank Shooting Stars on its tour to Dubai from 30 March – 13 April.
The team will play four 50-over and two T20 matches against the ECB Academy as part of the tour which is designed to combine a high performance training environment with valuable match-practice in sub-continent conditions.
Tasmanian Cripps Roar Head Coach Julia Price has been appointed Head Coach for the tour, while Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars Head Coach Cathryn Fitzpatrick will work as an Assistant Coach.
The squad will be based in Dubai and all matches will be played at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Academy.

Commenting on the squad, Chair of Selectors Julie Savage said: “The WNSP has selected a squad of exciting young players, complemented by the experience of some Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars squad members.
"These tours are a tremendous learning experience for the young players in our system, providing experience of overseas conditions as well as an intensive playing and training program in a touring environment.
"It is important to expose our players to differing playing conditions around the world to ensure that we are prepared for events such as the 2016 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 in India, as well as tours to these regions in the future.
"The Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars squad members, having had significant touring and playing experience abroad and in Australia, are well placed to mentor the younger players and teach them the habits of successful international athletes, while at the same time enhancing their individual preparation ahead of the forthcoming Women’s Ashes series in England."
