Superior goal difference sees South Australia at the top table, ahead of the undefeated Victoria, following day two of the 21/U National Netball Championships at the ACT Netball Centre in Canberra on Wednesday.
While South Australia leads the competition after four games, courtesy of their 76-goal victory over Northern Territory in Round 4, Victoria remain the only undefeated team, and still have a game in hand, after wins over SA, ACT and Western Australia following their Round 1 bye.
Day three began with Western Australia defeating Queensland 62-50 in the first game on Wednesday morning before Victoria accounted for hosts ACT 68-34 while South Australia brought the third round to a close with a hard fought four-goal win over defending champions New South Wales.
The ACT remain on the cusp of a stunning top four finish, to the delight of the strong home support, with the hosts sitting in fifth after four rounds, level with Western Australia and New South Wales on four points apiece.
The winless Queensland and Northern Territory will do battle on Thursday afternoon though both sides are still the face last year’s Grand Finalists New South Wales and Victory with just three games remaining before finals.
The highlight of day four will be the grand final rematch between NSW and VIC at 8.00pm on Thursday evening.
