The great tour finals of the 7th Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY hosted by Blue Tomato and Ride Snowboards 2019/2020 went down on October 17th and 18th, 2020 at the Betterpark Hintertux on Hintertux Glacier. The 4th snowboarding slopestyle contest of Zillertal´s most popular snowboard series 2019/2020 was not only about medals and day podiums, but also about the crowning of the overall tour winners, the new Kings and Queens of the Zillertal VÄLLEY 2019/2020. Last weekend, the 4th and final Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY tour stop 2019/2020 hosted by Blue Tomato und Ride Snowboards took place at the Betterpark Hintertux on Hintertux Glacier. Saturday´s coaching and training dÄy came along with wintery conditions and fresh powder for everyone. On Sunday morning, the snowpark showed-off with bluebird and sunshine over the large XXL setup, just in time for the snowboard slopestyle contest. Despite Corona, many snowboarders had come to Hintertux Glacier to clear the last tour points at the 4th Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY tour stop 19/20, grab for a medal and a spot on the day´s podium and reach out for the crown and title of the overall tour winner. „With distance“ and best manners, the participants reached deep into their bag of tricks to impress the judges and competitors.
It was Slovenian style machine Naj Mekinc, who finally scored twice. With his BS 1080 double cork, he won the Horsefeathers Best Trick Award and claimed the gold medal in the men´s competition in one go. In the ladies category, Italian newcomer Federica Sola came first and Eva Hanicova from Slovakia took the top spot on the Rookie Girls`podium. Paul Frischhut from Austria won the Grom Boys contest and a very happy Matyas Skandera from Czech Republic found himself on top of the Super Grom Boys podium. In the Super Grom Girls category, it was Shania Colsters from the Netherlands, who went for solid gold and thus took the lead in the tour ranking, claiming the crown as the new Queen oft he VÄLLEY in her category.
Vanessa Volopichova from Team Czech Republic won the Grom Girls contest and got rewarded „Most impressive Grom“ of the dÄy by the Ästhetiker jury. With this result, Vanessa took home two crowns as the new double Queen of the VÄLLEY, claiming the titles of the overall Grom Girls and overall female tour winner.
Jakub Hrones, also from the Czech Republic, dominated the Rookie Boys class of the finals. With his outstanding result, he became the new Rookie Boys and overall male tour winner. Jakub took home two trophies and two crowns as the new King of the Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY 2019/2020 Rookie Boys and Overall Men. „Thanks Zillertal VÄLLEY RÄLLEY for the great season! It was one for the books and I think everyone hat a great time. I am so stoked to take the overall win! Thank you and see you next season,“ Jakub smiled.
