British Swimming has announced Nick Hume has stood down as National Performance Director for Water Polo. The Rocky Mountain Rollergirls 5280 Fight Club is taking on Team Awesome Saturday, April 4th 2009 at the Bladium. Team Awesome is comprised of the best skaters from states across the country. They are all traveling to the Mile Hi City to square off against the mighty 5280 Fight Club.

Jessie Vetter (Cottage Grove, Wis.), a senior goaltender from the University of Wisconsin, is the 2009 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award winner. In its 12th year, the award is presented annually by The USA Hockey Foundation to the top player in NCAA Division I women’s ice hockey.

British Cycling has confirmed today that it is to host the first round of the 2009/2010 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics at the Manchester Velodrome from 30 October to 1 November.

This event represents a great opportunity for the British Teams to claim medals and prove their international ability in a year that see the World Championships visit the 02 Arena in London in October.
