The 8th edition of the Freeski World Cup Corvatsch in Switzerland is only a few weeks away taking place from March 26th – 27th, 2021 – Swiss-Ski stars and X-Games champions 2021 Mathilde Gremaud and Andri Ragettli confirm to participate
(Silvaplana near St. Moritz/SUI – February 2nd, 2021) Host and organizer Corvatsch AG is confirming that the FIS Freeski World Cup at Corvatsch Park in Silvaplana near St. Mortiz, Switzerland is scheduled for March 26th – 27th, 2021 as planned. Preparations for the 8th edition of the World Cup are in full swing to make sure athletes find the perfect environment end of March.
Traditionally this competition ends the winter season for Freeskiers, where the event titles and CHF 50.000 prize money are up for grabs and also the Slopestyle FIS World Cup Champions are crowned. Reason enough for the “Who is Who” of Freestyle Skiing to meet at Corvatsch Park located at 2700 m at the end of a very different pre-Olympic season with less events than usual.
Currently athletes from 23 countries are registered to compete at the Corvatsch World Cup. In the men’s field all eyes will be on Corvatsch title defender and Swiss superstar Andri Ragettli, who celebrated X-Games Gold last weekend winning the Big Air event. Still in the yellow bib after the only Slopestyle World Cup event this season at Stubai last November, Ragettli is also on his way to collect another crystal globe. On the women’s side, Tess Ledeux (France) is on course to snatch the crystal globe, but strong competitors like Olympic Champion 2018 Sarah Höfflin and X-Games winner 2021 Mathilde Gremaud (both Switzerland) will challenge her. Also watch out for title defender Megan Oldham (CAN), who just won X-Games silver and bronze medals last weekend.
