Schilds wins Junior Championships in Spain

In the women's slalom race, the U.S. Ski Team's Kiley Staples (Park City, UT) finished 24th followed by teammate Laurenne Ross (Klamath Falls, OR) in 29th.

"It was a very good second run of slalom for Laurenne who has been more of a speed skier. This performance will boost her confidence in slalom going into the U.S. Championships [at Sugarloaf, ME] and the NorAm Finals [at Lake Placid, NY] coming up in two weeks," Evans added.

Austrian Bernadette Schild won the women's slalom followed by Celina Hangl of Switzerland in second and Nastasia Noens of France in third.
