- Reigning World champions top ladies, pairs categories -
Colorado Springs, Colo. (Aug. 28, 2008) – U.S. Figure Skating and icenetwork.com have announced the initial “World Figure Skater Rankings” for the 2008-09 season. The rankings, found on icenetwork.com and updated weekly, rank the top 20 figure skaters in the world in ladies, men’s, pairs and ice dancing.
A skater or team’s ranking is determined by the total points accumulated since the 2006-07 season. This points-based system takes into account both national and international competitions. Skaters not competing in the 2008-09 season will not be considered for the rankings. More information about the criteria can be found on icenetwork.com. The icenetwork.com World Figure Skater Rankings will be updated on icenetwork.com each Monday.
