Yang Ha Eun Wins Dream Final against Misaki Morizono

By: Marius Widmer, ITTF Media Coordinator

Korea Junior & Cadet Open - ITTF Junior Circuit

Number one seed, Japanese Misaki Morizono versus number two seeded Korean Yang Ha Eun was the top class final in the Girls' Singles event at the Korean Junior and Cadet Open on Sunday 16th August 2009.

Yang Ha Eun won in four straight games. It was her fourth title this season on the ITTF Junior Circuit and Yang will take over the lead in the Junior Circuit standings of Romania’s Cristina Hirici.

First Win over Morizono
Yang Ha Eun was surprised about performance after the final. “To be honest I didn't think I would win”, the 14 year old cadet aged player said. “I'm very happy about this title because so far I always lost to Morizono. That’s why today I was just trying to play point by point, not thinking of the previous matches.”

Successful Season
Both players, Yang and Morizono, belong to the most successful players on the 2009 ITTF Junior Circuit. Yang Ha Eun claimed her fourth title in four appearances; she has previously won in Bahrain, Qatar and France.

Misaki Morizono for her part missed out on a third title. The winner of the Swedish and Hungarian Opens reached the third final on this year’s Junior Circuit, but for once she failed to win the tournament.

Nevertheless, the 17 year old Japanese is in a very comfortable position after 17 of 25 Junior events to qualify for the Junior Circuit Finals to be held in Tokyo in October.
