Wu Yang to lead the International Table Tennis Tour in Germany

The German Open that starts in Dortmund, today, Wednesday 23rd February and concludes on Sunday 27th February 2011
The Women's Singles event, China's Ding Ning who leads the Women's Singles Standings, having won in England and the United Arab Emirates, is not present in Germany; in fact only Wu Yang of the winners in 2011 is on duty in Dortmund. Liu Shiwen who clinched the top prize in Qatar is not on duty.
Fierce Competition
Nevertheless, the competition will be fierce with three players in particular having a point to prove: Guo Yan, Li Xiaoxia and Guo Yue have all fallen short in 2011. Most certainly less than the top prize does not please them and no doubt Guo Yan is relieved that Ding Ning is not present in Dortmund. Prior to this year, in international competition, Guo Yan had never lost to Ding Ning; in 2011 she has lost all three encounters – the final in England and the United Arab Emirates, the semi-final in Qatar.
