Wozniacki and Zvonareva through to Qatar Ladies Open Final

World no.1 Caroline Wozniacki reached the final of the 2011 Qatar Ladies Open after crushing France’s Marion Bartoli in two straight sets 6-1 6-1.
It will be the first final appearance for Wozniacki in Qatar Ladies Open, but her second consecutive in Doha as she reached the final of the WTA Tour Championships in September last year before losing to Belgium’s Kim Clijsters.
Russia’s Vera Zvonareva earned a hard fought three- set victory 6-1 2-6 6-4 over former world number one Jelena Jankovic of Serbia in the semi-finals of Qatar ladies Open to set up a final clash against the current World number one Caroline Wozniacki.
The second seed needed only 30 minutes to win the first set against her Serbian opponent with a powerful display of strong serves.
However, Jankovic replied in the best possible way winning the second set 6-4 and breaking her Russian opponent’s serve on three occasions.
In the third and final set, Jankovic was on the verge of taking a vital lead when she was 40-0 up in the ninth set and the score tied at 4-4.
But, the Russian star rallied back and won five straight points to take a 5-4 lead before breaking Jankovic’s serve in the final game to win the match.
