The inaugural HBA Great Australian Run on Sunday, November 30 is shaping up as the best quality road race ever staged in Australia, outside the Sydney Olympics.
The 15km fun run around the streets of Melbourne will feature a world-class elite field including world marathon record holder Haile Gebreslassie, Olympic marathon champion Constantina Dita, reigning world marathon champions Luke Kibet and Catherine Ndereba and Australia’s best including Craig Mottram and Benita Johnson.
However, the vast majority of entrants will be casual weekend joggers and walkers of all levels, all enjoying this unique opportunity to run with the world’s best athletes whilst targeting their own personal objectives such as a personal best time or just a race finish.
