Three fourth-placed finishes in the women's 500m TT, women's team sprint summarised the racing to date, with British hopes struggling to take an illusive first podium.
Meanwhile, Becky James and Jess Varnish rode off through the B section of the sprint competition, gaining plenty of experience and pleasing results against good competition. The pair met in the semi-final, which was won by James - the British Champion going on to take the B final.
Dani King made a successful start to her first ever World Cup omnium, winning the flying lap and sitting second overall after the points race. Eleventh in the elimination dropped King to tied fourth with three races remaining.
