Adelaide Thunderbirds coach Jane Woodlands has been named the Australian Netball Diamonds assistant coach for the Holden Netball Test Series against England. The opening duel against world number three England and the Diamonds is this Saturday, October 4 at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre, followed by a second match in Adelaide on October 8.
Woodlands will replace Roselee Jencke who is unavailable for the series.
Having previously been a scholarship coach at the AIS and involved in the Australian 21/U program in 2007, this is a progressive step for Woodlands.
“I was surprised and delighted to be selected as the assistant coach for the Australian Netball Diamonds,” Woodlands said.
“I am really looking forward to working with Norma Plummer who is a genius and someone who I have watched closely for many years. Working with the best players in the country is also a great opportunity for my development pathway.”
Susan Kenny will remain assistant coach of the Diamonds for the Holden Netball Test Series against New Zealand in Melbourne on October 26 and Brisbane on November 2.
