Late in the first quarter of a scoreless game, a special teams play by Jo Jo Warner began the charge. After tackling the Mayhem's punter, Kim Ford, the Passion took over on the West Michigan 34 yard line. Three plays later, QB Lisa Horton ran around the left side and into the endzone for a 6-0 lead. After holding West Michigan without a first down, Lyndsi Hughes capped off a 52 yard drive with a 2 yard touchdown. Jen Moody caught the conversion in the back corner of the endzone leading to a 14-0 lead. With under a minute to go before half-time, Lisa Horton sneaked up the middle for her second touchdown. Cristy Laudadio tacked on the extra point and Pittsburgh took a 21-0 lead into the break.

The Passion received the opening kick of the 2nd half and proceeded 65 yards down the field. The drive was capped off when Lisa Horton floated a ball into the right side of the endzone to Lori Johnson to open up a 28-0 lead. The Mayhem were able to answer back when Catherine Converse ran 73 yards for the lone score of the game. The 4th quarter saw the Passion round out the scoring with another Lyndsi Hughes touchdown. The 3H rushing attack again controlled the game. Hughes (91 yards and 2 TDs), Henley (89 yards) and Horton (44 yards and 2 TDs) combined for 224 yards on the ground. Horton went 10 for 18 with 195 yards and a touchdown pass to go along with her rushing figures. Five different players caught a pass for Pittsburgh with Jen Moody catching 4 balls for 80 yards.

The defense was led by Melissa Yeck and Trumane Rogers who both figured in on 16 tackles. Eden Pleva had been a strong part of the special teams but showed she can also play defense with 11 tackles and a fumble recovery. Kelly Stoner was able to pick up an interception and Jo Jo Warner had 7 tackles and a sack. Pittsburgh will meet a familiar foe with Cleveland. The Passion and the Fusion have met twice this year with Pittsburgh getting a 23-14 win in the season opener and a 40-18 win in Cleveland on May 26th.
