Women's African Club Championship dates confirmed

 

Prisons and Pipelines in the all-Kenyan final in 2010 which the former won to earn the right to represent Africa at the FIVB Women's Club World Championship

Cairo, Egypt, January 19, 2011 – The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) confirmed that the 2011 Women's African Club Championship in Kasarani, Kenya will take place from March 30 to April 10.


The tournament, which welcomed 16 teams from all over the continent in the last two editions in 2009 and 2010, is considered one of the most important African competitions this year. It will serve as qualification for this year's FIVB Women's Club World Championship, with the winners earning a ticket to the Qatar showpiece.

Among the teams expected to compete for the title are holders Kenya

Prisons, who finished fifth at the 2010 Club World Championship in December, as well as 2010 African Club Championship runners-up Kenya Pipelines and last year's bronze medallists in Mauritius, KC Bank.
