The White Ferns have stormed into the final after hammering India by 52 runs at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

After winning the toss and electing to bat skipper Aimee Watkins blazed her way to an unbeaten 89 off 58 to set up the victory – the highest score of the tournament so far. It was an innings full of entertainment as she hit the rope on no fewer than ten occasions and cleared it twice.

"I've played some good innings. But this would be one of my best,” Watkins said.

The White Ferns have stormed into the final after hammering India by 52 runs at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

Suzie Bates and Amy Satterthwaite contributed 10 each and Sophie Devine hit a quick 14 at the end to take their score through to 145.

In contrast the Indians were sluggish with their batting and could only manage seven boundaries in their entire innings.

Mithali Raj made 20 and Amita Sharma 24 but the accurate and disciplined New Zealand bowling unit was too good, keeping them to 93.

Sian Ruck led the attack taking two for 18 with Amy Satterthwaite taking two for 20.

Watkins commended the bowling saying, "If you bowl the right length on that pitch, it's hard to score easily. But perhaps the batters could have used their feet more and been inventive."
