Vision 1 Racing and Action Medical Research join forces.
The new womens professional cycling team, Vision 1 Racing set up by Olympic and World Champion Nicole Cooke, is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with charity Action Medical Research. The team, led by Nicole, will wear the logo of Action Medical Research with the strapline 'Official Charity Partner' on their kit. The aim is to publicise the important work undertaken by the charity, highlight awareness of their renowned cycling events and encourage fundraising for their causes. The partnership was formed following discussions initiated by Cyclevox, the media and sponsorship consultancy run by Anthony McCrossan and Brian Smith.
Commenting on the partnership Anthony said, 'Cyclevox has been working on behalf of Nicoles Vision 1 team to form long term partnerships. The instant we looked at Nicoles well thought out objectives and the fundraising strategy of Action Medical Research, we knew there was synergy so we initiated meetings and discussions which have resulted in this exciting alliance. In 2009, Nicole and the team will support some of the fundraising rides and make appearances, whilst carrying the branding of the charity all over the world. We are proud to have brought Action Medical Research and Vision 1 Racing together.'
Nicole Cooke, visiting one of the Action Medical Research projects in London said, ' Seeing the research being carried out by the medical team was so inspiring. I am proud to be able to support Action Medical Research by drawing attention to their charity, support their fundraising events and the work which is helping change the outcome of peoples lives'
Director of Fundraising at Action Medical Research, Lewis Coghlin said: "Children's charity, Action Medical Research is delighted to be the official charity partner of Vision1 Racing and look forward to working together to increase participation in our bike rides. Vision1 Racing represent the very best in the world of cycling and as a charity that offers a unique portfolio of 100-mile rides across the UK, the biggest London to Paris ride with up to 600 participants, an elite Spanish event and the brand new Ride24, an endurance team relay challenge, we have a natural synergy. Nicole Cooke is an inspiration who has shown that hard work and dedication can result in great achievements, which reflects the charity's own philosophy." The partnership will also provide links to the charity website www.action.org.uk from Vision 1 Racing and the opportunity for fans and riders to buy replica Vision 1 kit with a donation being made to the charity.
