The USA Women's Senior National Team will be hosting Canada in a three game exhibition set starting on Tuesday May 13 and concluding on Thursday May 15. On Tuesday the women will be at Rancho Santa Margarita High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, then Wednesday at the Commerce Aquatics Center in Commerce, CA, and the series concludes on Thursday at the USA Water Polo National Training Center in Los Alamitos, CA. All games will start at 7:30pm and tickets are available by clicking here or visiting the usawaterpolo.org home page.
These three games mark the first international competition for Team USA since their return from the Good Luck Beijing tournament in Beijing, China where they claimed second place. Since then the team took on local colleges UCLA and USC in exhibitions proving victorious in both leading up to the Canada series. Canada and the United States last got together in January when the Canadians came to Southern California for a three game set. The United States went 2-1 despite the absence of several veterans with injuries.
Next up for Team USA will be the FINA Women's World League Super Final taking place in Spain from June 10-15. They will spend some additional time overseas in common training with Greece before returning home for a four game exhibition series with Australia. Those games begin on the 4th of July in Los Alamitos at the USA Water Polo National Training Center and conclude on July 10 at Stanford University. In between the team will see a visit to the San Diego area for games in La Jolla on July 6 and Coronado on July 8. Additionally, those games mark the final competition in the United States before Team USA departs for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
