COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Wisconsin remains No. 1 in this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll after completing a weekend sweep of St. Cloud State University. The Badgers, who boast a 22-2-0 record, accumulated 186 points and 15 first-place votes to earn the top spot for the eighth time this season.
Quinnipiac University is making its first-ever poll debut at No. 10. This week features two top-10 match-ups, with No. 2 Cornell University facing off against No. 4 Mercyhurst College tonight (Jan. 18), and No. 1 University of Wisconsin traveling to take on No. 6 University of Minnesota Duluth for a weekend series. NOTES: The Western Collegiate Hockey Association leads all conferences with four ranked programs, while Hockey East boasts three, ECAC Hockey has two ranked teams and College Hockey America has one ... A total of 12 teams received votes. ABOUT THE POLL: The 14th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association.
