The Lady Imps got the second half of the FA WSL season off to a bang with a 3-2 victory away to the Vixens thanks to a Grace McCatty own goal and Daly's double.
It had been a tough start to the season for Lincoln, having scored just twice in their first seven games, but they have started as they mean to go on in the second half of the campaign.
"We worked hard in training [during the break]," Daly told WSR. "It was a difficult game in difficult conditions but we have got the points and ploughed on as a team so we have done really well.
"It is always good to get on the scoresheet and be top scorer of our team now, especially as a defender, but it is a team game and I am just happy to help the team get the three points."
The former Leeds full back also praised the impact of on loan striker Jodie Taylor, whose hassling up front forced McCatty into putting the ball past her own keeper after just two minutes and set Lincoln on their way.
"She is a great signing and a top player. She will always give you 110 per cent no matter what. We have struggled with injuries, Carla [Cantrall] being our only out and out forward so to get somebody like Jodie in is massive for us."
Meawhile Academy skipper Corinne Yorston, who netted a last minute consolation penalty yesterday, was at a loss to explain the defeat.
"I don't really know where it went wrong. We have been prepared and ready for this game for about a month or so," she said.
"We just didn't start the game quick enough and found ourselves two behind thanks to a couple of scrappy goals.
"I thought we had enough chances to get back into it but we just didn't take them and we are disappointed with the result."
It doesn't get any easier for Bristol, as they face league leaders Birmingham City on Wednesday but the former Arsenal midfielder sees that as an opportunity to bounce straight back.
"They beat us 4-0 last time around but we know what to expect from them and know what we have to do this time and this result will spur everyone on to put it right.
"It is live on ESPN so we want to make sure we play better and get the result in that game."
