Cristina HIRICI won the inner-Romanian final against Anamaria SEBE 4-0. The 17 year old HIRICI was top seeded and was eventually the best player after she suffered a surprising defeat in the first stage against Egypt’s Rana EZZAT.

Due to this gaffe HIRICI had difficult opponents in the main draw from the beginning and faced three Romanians towards the end of the tournament. “Maybe it would have been easier, if I had won the group, but finally it proved to be a good draw for me”, HIRICI said after the final shining like the Egyptian sun.
About her goals on the ITTF 2009 Junior Circuit the winner said: “I hope to play like here and reach the Junior Circuit Finals.”
Top Seeded Cadets Prevail Bernadette SZOCS and Adem HMAM won the Girls’ and Boys’ Cadet Singles event respectively. SZOCS, another winner from Romania, showed no weakness throughout the tournament and celebrated an 11-7, 11-7 and 11-6 victory over compatriot Irina CIOBANU. The girls from the Eastern European country have several competitive players in all age categories. The European table tennis future could be in their hands.
