The PWA World Cup Guincho Wave Contest 2007 - Day Five

All hope rests on some low-pressure wind tomorrow, and the chance to start the double elimination.

However, confidently waiting at the podium side are the event leaders Daida Moreno, who pushed-out Karin Jaggi (F2 / North) in a ruthless tussle in the women’s contest.

Some sailors have already checked the forecasts and thrown in the towel, emptying the rider’s tent and packing-up their gear.

Others are more optimistic, trusting in some rare south wind to be strong enough to make amends for their single elimination performances.

Last night many cut loose at a laid-back Beach BBQ courtesy of our hosts, the generous sponsors and local organizers.

Tonight there’s a stylish party at the Coconuts club in the nearby cosmopolitan resort of Caiscais.

Although many may party until late, others will be tucked-up in bed early should they need to be on top form for the last day.

Skipper’s meeting is at 11.00 tomorrow. Who knows what the elements will provide?

Be sure to tune in to www.pwaworldtour.com throughout the day to see how the conclusion to this contest plays out.

Also, don’t miss the chance to check our video gallery for footage of the single elimination, tune into the live event ticker, browse the quality photo section, and check the results.
