2009 World Games Test Events, Kaohsiung (TPE)
KAOHSIUNG (TPE) FIG Office, The focus of today’s and tomorrow’s Rhythmic Gymnastics competition at the World Games 2009 Pre-event is on testing all operations and giving the Kaohsiung Organising Committee (KOC) an opportunity to test run the procedure.
Since Chinese Taipei has never held an international Rhythmic Gymnastics competition before, and in light of its lack of experience when it comes to the participation of its gymnasts in international events, the Word Games 2009 Test Events offer organisers an excellent chance to optimise operations. The Kaohsiung Arena is a beautiful venue that allows for the staging of top level competitions in all gymnastic disciplines, stated FIG TC President Ms Egle Abruzzini.
For both the KOC and participating Chinese Taipei gymnasts, the event represents a unique opportunity to gain experience at a world level event in their own country. After the 28th World Championships 2007 in Patras (GRE) and the 15th Asian Games 2006 in Doha (QAT) the World Games 2009 Test Events represent the third most important international competition with the involvement of Chinese Taipei. Mr Wang Chin Ming (TPE), coach of the rhythmic gymnasts from Chinese Taipei, explains in an interview what it means to him and his protégés to compete at this event in Kaohsiung.
