AH MOW-SANTOS UPDATE: Robyn Ah Mow-Santos (Honolulu), a three-time Olympian for Team USA, has returned to her professional team in Switzerland as Volero heads into the playoffs. Ah Mow-Santos led Volero to a 25-19, 25-16, 25-22 victory in the second match of the quarterfi nals against Tech laser VBC Cheseaux on Feb. 14. The victory allows Volero to advance to the league’s semifi nal round as it will play a best-offi ve series against VC Kanti Schaffhausen. The series begins Feb. 28.
HANEEF-PARK UPDATE: Tayyiba Haneef-Park (Laguna Hills, Calif.), a two-time U.S. Olympian, is competing for the Pioneer Red Wings of the Japanese V-League. One week after Pioneer lost to Hisamitsu with three-time U.S. Olympian Logan Tom, it answered with a 25-23, 25-21, 25-13 win of its own on Feb. 14. Haneef-Park played a different role in the match, that as a substitute in all three sets compiling four kills on 14 attacks and an ace. She stepped up her play on Feb. 15 as Pioneer captured a 22-25, 25-23, 25-10, 25-19 victory over Okayama. Haneef-Park scored 18 kills on 46 attacks, two blocks and an ace for 21 points. Pioneer, currently in sixth-place in the Japan V-League standings with a 10-10 record, plays topranked NEC on Feb. 21 and second-place Denso on Feb. 22 at Yamagata.
