Team Bath host Manchester Thunder in Sunday¹s (19 May) Netball Superleague semi-final in what promises to be one of the most exciting fixtures of the season.
Team Bath are most successful team in Superleague history having won four of the seven titles contested date while Thunder go into the semi-final at the University of Bath Sports Training Village as defending champions.
The two sides have met once before this season in Manchester in Phase 1 of the Superleague, when Team Bath ran out winners by a single goal at 55-54.
Team Bath made sure of a home fixture by finishing top of the Showdown phase of the Superleague. Thunder, meanwhile, came top of the Challenger League and then beat Hertfordshire Mavericks 47-38 in the fourth/fifth place play-off last night (Thursday) to secure their place in the semis.
The prize at stake when the two teams meet is a place in the Superleague Grand Final at Worcester on Saturday 25 May against the winner of Monday night¹s Celtic Dragons v Surrey Storm semi.
Team Bath head coach Jess Thirlby said: ³We¹ve come into some good form in the last couple of games and our training intensity has been really good.
³We played our best netball of the season against Surrey Storm on Monday so we have some good momentum and confidence, but you can¹t make any assumptions or take anything for granted in an all-or-nothing game like the one on Sunday."
