September 27th NEWPT Results
We would like to begin by thanking Snookers Sports, Billiards, Bar and Grill for hosting the fifth stop of the New England Women’s Pool Tour at their brand new location in Providence, RI.
Now for the results!
On this rainy New England day, the tournament brought out 16 players, including the guns such as Stacie Bourbeau, Candi Rego, and Liz Taylor, who just finished 5th-8th at the WPBA event the Colorado Classic. Congratulations Liz!
As always, Liz Taylor fought her way to the hot seat match defeating such competitors as Melanie Fontaine, Joan Thole, and Bonnie Saritelli. In similar fashion on the opposite side of the bracket, Stacie Bourbeau defeated Wendy Snow, Debra Nicoll, and Amanda Parhiala, in order to meet Liz Taylor in the hot seat match. Stacie came out firing defeating Liz in a convincing 7-1 to send her to the loser’s bracket.
Meanwhile, on the one-loss side, Linda Morton proved to be very destructive in her path, defeating Norma Corneau, Nicole Christie, and Bonnie Saritelli. She finally lost to Candi Rego to finish in fourth place. This is the highest finish by Linda Morton thus far on the NEWPT. Congratulations Linda!
Liz Taylor then defeated Candi Rego a convincing 7-1, to reach the final match against Stacie Bourbeau. After a long day, Liz Taylor defeated Stacie Bourbeau in this modified final race, 9-6 in order to become the tournament champion. With this win she remains the tour leader. Congratulations Liz.
