10-strong British pentathlon team prepares for European Champs
Pentathlon GB has announced a 10-strong British team to compete at the 2010 modern pentathlon European Championships in Hungary.
Four senior athletes Heather Fell, Mhairi Spence, Katy Livingston and
Louise Helyer - have been selected to compete in the women¹s individual
competition.
Samantha Murray, Katy Burke and Freyja Prentice, who are all still juniors,
will represent Great Britain in the team relay.
All seven are currently in the top-32 in the world rankings.
The European Championships run from 14-20 July and take place in Debrecen.
Meanwhile, Kate French demonstrated the strength and depth of British
women¹s modern pentathlon when she finished second at the German Open
Championships in Berlin at the weekend.
The 19-year-old was only beaten by Germany¹s Eva Trautmann. French¹s
performance pushed her up to 55th in the world rankings. Team-mate Lydia
Rosling finished 10th.
