Stingers beat Spain 15-8 at test event

The Australian women's water polo team has continued its preparations for the Beijing Olympics with a 15-8 victory over Spain in Tenerife.

The Stingers led 5-4 after the first quarter before advancing to a comfortable victory.

Head coach Greg McFadden said too many tactical errors were made during the game.

"It's very rare when you win a game by seven goals that you are annoyed but tonight that was the case," he said.

"Silly mistakes from some of our senior players was extremely disappointing."

Goalkeeper Victoria Brown was one of the best performers, making eight saves.

Meanwhile the men's water polo team was defeated by the USA 6-4 in California.
