Switzerland's Olympic champion Nicola Spirig won the women's Triathlon gold medal at Bilgah Beach on Saturday (13 June) in two hours and 28 seconds.
Her victory meant that Switzerland had won the first two gold medals of the inaugural European Games, after Jolanda Neff took the women's Mountain Bike title earlier.
Rachel Klamer of the Netherlands took silver in 2:01:44, and Sweden's Lisa Norden, the London 2012 Olympic silver medallist, claimed the bronze in 2:01:46.
