Six U.S. Athletes Win Titles At Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships
U.S. water ski athletes won titles in respective events at the ninth annual Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships, May 30-31, at Lago Santa Fe in Santa Fe, Texas.
The event featured women divisions (ages 17 to 21) and girls divisions (ages 16 and under). Athletes competed for titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall.
U.S. athletes Keri McClure (Van Wert, Ohio) and Lauren Morgan (Odessa, Fla.) won overall titles in respective events. McClure, who won the women’s overall title tallying 3,000.0 points, also won titles in women’s slalom (1/2-buoy at 38 feet off) and jumping (111 feet).
Morgan, who won the girls’ overall title tallying 2,445.05 points, also won the girls’ jumping title, leaping 132 feet.
