Singapore's Leading Ladies Centre Stage in Incheon
Singapore dominated matters in the Women's Singles event at the KRA Korean Open in Incheon on Saturday 14th August 2010; FENG Tianwei, WANG Yue Gu and LI Jia Wei all booked semi-final places.
FENG Tianwei recorded a quarter-final success against LI Jie of the Netherlands, in the same round WANG Yue Gu ousted Japan's Ai FUKUHARA; whilst LI Jia Wei defeated the host nation's PARK Mi Young.
The one interloper to book a penultimate round place was Spain SHEN Yanfei; the 30 year old who negotiated two days of qualification caused the upset of the day. She beat second seeded Korean, KIM Kyung Ah in round two before ending the hopes of the latter's compatriot, MOON Hyun Jung, in the quarter-finals.
