Serbia women receive national award

All the award winners at the Serbia National Olympic Committee Annual Awards ceremony including the Serbia national women's Volleyball team

Belgrade, Serbia,  - For the fourth year in a row, the Serbia senior women’s volleyball team was elected as the Best Women’s National Team in Serbia by the Serbian Olympic Committee at its traditional end of year awards ceremony in the Serbian House of Parliament.


Bojana Zivkovic, Stefana Veljkovic, Tijana Malesevic, Milena Rasic, Nadja Ninkovic, and Nina Rosic received the award on behalf of the team for their achievements in 2009, which included winning the gold medal at the first edition of the CEV European League, the silver medal at the 2009 Universiade in Belgrade, and successful qualification to the FIVB World Championship Japan 2010.


Other acknowledged winners at the awards ceremony were Best Serbian Sportsman: Milorad Cavic (swimming), Best Serbian Sportswoman: Nadja Higl, (swimming) and Best Men’s National Team: Waterpolo.
