Egypt's Salma Nassar celebrated title success in the inaugural Women's International WISPA Persian Gulf Championship after upsetting both of the top two seeds in the WISPA World Tour 4 squash event at the Kish Island Olympic Sport Complex at Kish Island in Iran.
The 19-year-old third seed made her breakthrough in the semi-finals where she battled to a five-game victory over Lucie Fialova, the event favourite from the Czech Republic ranked 47 in the world.
Spurred on by her success, the world No 118 recovered from a game down in the final to overcome fellow Cairo citizen Merhan Amr Mahmoud, the second seed ranked more than 20 places higher, 7-11, 11-2, 11-3, 11-7.
The triumph marked left-hander Salma Nassar's first WISPA Tour title success - in her maiden final appearance.
