Since going to press with our last report on the Championship Trophy the script has been re-written at Highfields with, for example, the mighty Dutch going down to Argentina and the English squad not only beating Germany but coming back against the Chinese from one down in the first half to record another remarkable win. This ensures that they go into Super Saturday in contention for a medal. Currently the England Squad share joint honours on top of the leader board with the same points as the current world champions above currently third place Argentina sharing seven points with Germany. New Zealand have yet to win a game with China above them having taken just three points.
How would the England ladies cope earlier this week with the loss against the Dutch when they faced the Germans (whom they had never before beaten in a Trophy match) following what had been a controversial game? Was the victory against Argentina just a fluke result.
