Reljin praises Serbia Federation following bronze medal win at WGP
Former world champion and current Serbia women’s team manager Jelena Reljin has said the side had no expectations ahead of the finals of the 2011 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix in Macau, China and were happy to come away with the bronze medal on their first outing in the latest blog for the FIVB website.
Serbia made their debut in the premier annual women’s volleyball tournament this year, beating current world champions Russia to bronze, but Reljin was quick to praise the great work put in by the Serbia Volleyball Federation and the huge steps they have made in recent years.
Reljin also said that if captain Jelena Nikolic was fully fit, she believes the side would have had a fighting chance of making the finals.
