Quarter Finals decided for Women’s Olympic Tournament after drawing of lots

Beijing, China, August 17, 2008 - The FIVB conducted on Sunday, after the last match of the pools, the drawing of lots for the Quarter Finals of the Women’s Olympic Volleyball Tournament. While the matches A1 – B4 and B1 – A4 were already fixed in the schedule, the FIVB drew the matches for teams A2 and A3 vs B2 and B3, with their position for the Quarter Finals. The time schedule was decided according to the Olympic broadcasters' requests. Cuba will play against Serbia, Japan against Brazil, China against Russia and USA against Italy on Tuesday. The same procedure will follow on Monday, August 18, for the Men’s Quarter Finals.

The winners of China-Russia and Japan-Brazil will meet in one Semi Final and the winners of Cuba-Serbia and USA-Italy will meet in the other Semi Final.
