Outstanding Triathlete Aimee Backhouse meets Prime Minister Gordon Brown
Barbara Keeley, MP for Worsley, last week welcomed Aimee Backhouse, an outstanding triathlete and Head Girl at St George’s High School, to a Downing Street reception celebrating exceptional achievement in young people.
Barbara gave Aimee and her father Matt, who visited Westminster with Aimee, a tour of Parliament before accompanying her to Downing Street, where Aimee met Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Barbara said:
”Aimee is an outstanding talent. She trains very hard and is a keen competitor but doesn’t let her schoolwork suffer and is a great example to all young people in Salford. She is an impressive young woman and it was a pleasure to welcome her to Westminster and take her to meet the Prime Minister. She has a big future and we all hope it might lead to future medals and competition success for Aimee.”
