New Zealand run away with Test Series

The 5 Test match tour of Australia and New Zealand came to an end in Palmerston North yesterday, with the England Netball Team seeking to record a first ever series victory against the Silver Ferns (New Zealand).

Netball New Zealand run away with Test Series

Encouraged and buoyed by the remarkable turn-around victory on Wednesday in the second test (England winning 40 – 38 for first away victory against New Zealand), England went into the match with history beckoning, but it was the Silver Ferns who dominated after a competitive first quarter, and ultimately ran away with the match, winning 61 – 22.

England started with the same line-up that had played so effectively only days earlier, but New Zealand showed the expected determination and fight to preserve their status.

The series shows that whilst England have closed the gap (impressive performances against Australia and New Zealand on this tour), to challenge at the next level, consistency of performance is required.

Further information and details will be available on Monday.
